Our Phoenix (27th Ave) Materials Recovery Facility

The newly rebuilt Phoenix Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) is setting the standard for modern recycling. Originally built in 1995, the facility underwent a complete transformation in 2024, now featuring state-of-the-art equipment designed to maximize efficiency and recovery. Processing single-stream recyclables from City of Phoenix residents, the facility uses cutting-edge technology—including optical sorters, AI-powered robotics, magnets, and a variety of screens—to accurately separate paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, and glass. With this advanced system in place, we’re ensuring more materials are recovered and returned to the circular economy.
