Our Sarasota Materials Recovery Facilities

Our Sarasota campus is home to one of the most advanced recycling operations in the country. The Material Recovery Facility (MRF), opened in 2019, was Florida’s first artificial intelligence (AI)-powered recycling facility. With a 50-ton-per-hour capacity, it processes residential and commercial single stream material for Sarasota County and several surrounding municipalities. The facility has earned Gold Certification from the Glass Recycling Foundation and continues to leverage AI-powered robots and optical sorters to optimize bale output quality.

In addition to recycling, we also have an organics processing facility. The site accepts green waste—such as stumps, trees, branches, and sod—and produces high-quality landscaping products, including compost, mulch, and topsoil, which are available for purchase on-site.
